Jaden Shedlock So QB Crestwood
Not many Sophomores are gonna be the fastest most athletic guy on the field but Shedlock is just a freak athlete. As a freshman Shedlock took the reins of that Comets offense and helped march them to that state semifinal, and Shedlock dominated the whole way rushing for 1,161 yards and 17 touchdowns. Shedlock wasn't asked much to throw the ball but when he did he answered the call completing just shy of 50% of his passes for 472 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Aaron Crossley SR RB Wyoming Area
Crossley has cemented his name with the all-time greats in the Warriors program and is now looking to cap off his senior season with a bang. The Lehigh commit was one of the most dominating players in the district season and was a nightmare for opposing defenses. Crossley averaged 9.5 yards a carry and ran for 2,115 yards and 24 touchdowns last season and returns as the district leading rusher.
Anchor 1
Zach Fox SR RB Nanticoke
There haven't been to many bright spots for the Trojans over the past couple of seasons, but the growth of Fox has been one of them. Fox has been the leader of this Trojans team the past couple of seasons and has strived in this Wing-T offense recording 1,423 yards and 15 touchdowns last season. Fox returns as the second leading rusher in District 2.
Zach Paczewski SR WR Dallas
Not only one of the best football players in the district, but one of the best athletes in the district Paczewski is as talented as they come. Paczewski can do it all from taking jet sweeps, to lining up in the slot, to playing outside, wherever number 3 goes he is dangerous. In an injury shortened season Paczewski was as effective as they come, recording 23 receptions for 367 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Anchor 2
Evan Laybourn-Boddie SR WR Wilkes-Barre
Laybourn-Boddie was of the most versatile athletic players in the LFC, and now brings that explosive play over to the WVC. Laybourn-Boddie is one of the most diverse players in the district and at West Scranton last season was used in a variety of ways from taking Jet Sweeps, tosses out of the backfield, to just lining up at WR. Laybourn-Boddie recorded 31 catches for 518 yards and 3 touchdowns last season, while also adding another 220 and 2 touchdowns on the ground.
Nick Farrell SR TE Dallas
Farrell is following the footsteps of his older brother Jack who was an all region tight end during his tenure at Dallas. Farrell is more of like a receiver then a tight end as he plays more on the outside but on occasion you will see him on the line. Farrell is just a nightmare matchup for opposing defenses as linebackers are too slow to keep up with him and corners are too small to cover him. Farrell's size and strength has led him to become one of the best deep ball threats in the district as he recorded 12 catches for 204 yards and 5 touchdowns last season.
Anchor 3
Alkes Jaskiweicz JR T Crestwood
Crestwood finished as the best team in District 2 last season and there is no question that success was generated by having one of the best O-Lines in the state anchored by Jaskiewicz. Jaskiweicz size and athleticism made him such a problem at tackle, as he was able to handle some of the best edge rushers in the district and help produce a 2,000 yard and 1,000 yard rusher. He helped the Comets rush for over 5,200 yards and helped them rush for 334 yards a game while leading them to the state semifinal.
Chase Desanto JR T Wyoming Area
The Warriors were one of the most dominant running teams in the state last season and that all started upfront with Desanto. Desanto paved the way of the Warriors lethal ground attack that ran for 305 yards a game en rout to a district playoff berth. Desanto did a great job of handling blitzing and taking on opposing defensive ends and opening holes for the district returning rusher.
James Gryskewicz JR C Wilkes-Barre
Anchor 4
The Wolfpack had one of the most explosive offenses in the district last season, and that success started with Gryskewicz. Gryskewicz was one of the leaders upfront on that Wolfpack team last season that made the playoffs last season and now will be the leader of that group of front. Gryskewicz did a great job of blocking the A gap and getting to second level, and helped produce both a 1,000 yard rusher, and passer.
Ryan Wiaterowski SR G Nanticoke
It's hard to be a 4 year starter in High School football, but Wiaterowski has managed to do and he has been tremendous along the way. Wiaterowski has been the anchor of this Trojans team for the past couple of years and has slowly turned into one of the best linemen in the WVC. Wiaterowski has just turned into a dominant run blocker in this Wing-T offense helping the Trojans rush for over 3,200 yards.
Dan Sabulski SR G Dallas
It's no secret Rich Mannello and the Dallas program produce some of the best offensive linemen in the district, and Sabulski is adding his name to that list. Dallas averaged 35 points per game and had one of the most high-powered offenses in the district last season largely in part due to Sabulski. Who was just terrific at pulling guard and just being force to be reckoned with against opposing d-lines, Sabulski helped the Mountaineers rush just shy of 3,000 yards and also helped produce a 1,500 yard QB.
Anchor 5
Zander Coleman SR DE Hazleton
It was the first season rocking the red and white for Coleman, and he made an immediate impact and was the driving force of this Cougars defense.
Coleman was used in a variety of different ways by coach Buchman from playing both end spots, to standup linebacker, but wherever number 9 lined up he was a problem. Coleman recorded 52 tackles, 9 for a loss, 4 hurries and 3 pass deflections.
Chase Shuckers JR DT Berwick
The Bulldogs have long been known for having some of the most physical linemen in the trenches and Shuckers certainly fits that narrative. The Bulldogs had a very good d-line this past season, and a lot of that success came from big number 64 clogging up holes in the middle. Shuckers did a very good job all season long shooting the A gap and stuffing the run, but also showed success in the pass rush department recording a few sacks,
Harrison Synder DE Berwick
Synder is as dangerous of an edge rusher as they come , and has just been a wrecking ball for the Bulldogs for the past 3 season. Synder has not only emerged as one of the best interior linemen in the WVC, but the district as a whole and will be the leader of this Bulldogs team. Synder size, strength, speed, and technique has led him to be a game changer on Friday nights, Synder recorded 50 tackles, 15 for loss and 5.5 Sacks.
Anchor 6
Lincoln Bibla JR LB Crestwood
The Name Bibla has a long history in the Comets program and Lincoln is just adding on to the legacy. Bibla was just a force to be reckoned with on Friday nights and emerged as the one of the district's best linebackers helping lead Crestwood to the state semifinal. Bibla will be leader of this Comets defense and is looking to build off a terrific Sophomore season where he recorded 70 tackles, 13 for a loss and 4 sacks.
Jake Dubaskas JR LB Valley West
There weren't too many bright spots for the Spartans last season, but one of them was the way Dubaskas stepped up and played for them. Dubaskas was big time playmaker on defense for the Spartans and emerged as one of the best run stuffers in the league. Dubaskas was also very good in coverage as well, really being able to line with anyone, receivers, running backs, or tight ends. Dubaskas recorded 57 tackles, 8 for a loss, and 2 sacks.
Howie Shiner SR LB Wilkes-Barre
Whether it's on offense or defense Shiner is one of the most underrated players in the district and was the anchor of this Wolfpack defense last season. Isaiah Cobb SR LB Valley West
Cobb truly showed how all around of a football player he is this past season, as when his offensive numbers went down he made up for it defensively. Cobb was just wrecking ball and a tackling machine for the Spartans, and slowly became one of the district's best run enforcers. Cobbs size and speed helped him record multiple 10+ tackles game en rout to a 81 tackle season.
Anchor 7
Matt Sklarosky SR DB Crestwood
The Comets had one of the best DB rooms in District 2 last season and Sklarosky late season bloom was a huge part of that. Sklarosky did what every coach tells you to do to make the most of your opportunities and he ran with it becoming a permanent starter late in the season helping push the Comets to the state semifinal. Sklarosky was the best coverage corner the Comets had last season recording 30 tackles, 3 interceptions and 8 pass deflections.
Michael Crane JR DB Wyoming Area
The Warriors were one of the youngest teams in District 2 this past season, but one of the underclassmen that shined and made an immediate impact was Crane. Crane did a good job of tackling in the box when asked to play there, but really excelled guarding the slot or outside receiver. Crane recorded 27 tackles, 2 interceptions, 2 pass deflections, and a fumble recovery.
Lucas Tirpak SR DB Dallas
Time and time again last year offenses tried to expose Tirpak for his size, but time and time again he made them pay. Tirpak really stepped up for the Mountaineers last year when they needed him guarding the number one and number 2 options most of the time and finding success while doing it. Tirpak recorded 51 tackles, 3 interceptions, one of which was a pick six.
Yazhir Slaughter SR DB Williamsport
The Millionaires will play their final season as a member of the WVC, and return a good portion of last year's team including their shutdown corner. Slaughter was tested game after game with pass heavy teams on the schedule, and never missed a beat. Slaughter has solid size and great speed at the corner position and it has led him to not giving up a TD all of last year, and recording 3 interceptions with 13 pass breakups.
