Dominico Spataro QB Lakeland

London Montgomery RB Scranton Prep

The Breakdown: It was simply one of the best years a quarterback has ever had in district 2,Spataro was simply an issue on friday nights. Spataro led the Chiefs to a 10-2 record which included a district playoff win and also helped them win the LFC division 3 title for the second year in a row. Spataro led district 2 in passing yards with 2,254 and touchdown passes with 25, and he also led all quarterbacks in rushing with 820 yards and in rushing touchdowns with 15.

Kevin Synder WR Lakeland

The Breakdown: Montgomery is coming over a historic year for the Cavaliers which saw them capture the district 2 class 3A title for the first time since 2018. Montgomery put up video game numbers in 2021 for the Cavaliers in just 10 games Montgomery rushed for a district-high 2,630 yards and 35 touchdowns which was also near the top in the state. Montgomery averaged 12 yards a carry and remember a lot of times Montgomery only played one half of football. Montgomery also helped hand Valley View its only regular season loss of the year, and he has already started to rack up division 1 offers as a junior. 

Robert Rossi WR Scranton Prep

The Breakdown: It was hard to argue Lakeland had a wide receiver 1 last season with how lethal the aerial attack was, but when the Chiefs needed a big play it seemed like Synder was their guy. Synder made big plays all year long for the Chiefs and emerged as a threat anytime the ball got in his hands. He finished with 35 receptions for a team high 612 yards and 8 touchdowns, and Synder helped Lakeland win a district playoff game and the division title.

 The Breakdown: When you take in how run heavy Prep was this past season it makes Rossi stats all more impressive. The Cavalier's standout wide receiver has just recently committed to Penn State as a preferred walk-on and is looking to make an impact there just as he did on Friday nights. Rossi is the complete package at receiver at 6,4 he has great speed with very good route running and some of the best hands in the district, when Rossi got in the open field he was dangerous. Rossi finished with 28 receptions for  610 yards and 10 touchdowns which was tied for second in the district. Rossi also helped the cavs capture the district title.

John Greenfield FB Old Forge

The Breakdown: Greenfield was a huge piece on why the Devils had one of the most prolific offenses in the state, and emerged as a true punishing fullback.

Greenfield was a huge reason why the Devils accomplished what they did in 2021 another undefeated regular season, another LFC division four title, a Class A district championship and 2 state playoff wins. Greenfield opposed his will on the football team as a punishing run blocker, but he also contributed in the run game rushing for 243 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Aiden Black TE Delaware Valley

The Breakdown: Black emerged as a star for the Warriors this season and helped them shake off an 0-3 start and helped them win seven straight games.

Black has all around been one of the best tight ends in this area for a while now, Black is a division 1 prospect and has been a problem since his freshman year. Black is an incredible run blocking tight end but emerged as a threat in the passing game he finished with 23 receptions for 373 yards and 4 touchdowns, and his 373 yards were second best in the district among tight ends and were tied for first in receiving touchdowns among tight ends.

Adam Kenny LT Scranton Prep

The Breakdown: Kenny was a leader on that offensive line for the Cavilers that just manhandled opposing defensive lines. Kenny was one of the best tackles in the district and his strength and technique helped lead the Cavilers rushing attack which was dominant in district 2. The Cavilers rushed for 3,819 yards and 49 touchdowns which were second-best in the LFC. Kenny also used his very efficient footwork in his pass protection helping the Cavs pass for 807 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Tyler Swartz RT Valley View

The Breakdown: Swartz has been one of the best offensive linemen in the area since his Sophomore season and has led Valley View to two district titles.

Swartz was the leader of arguably the best offensive line in the district and his physical style of play helped the Cougar offense averaged 39.4 points a game. The Cougar’s ground game was lethal behind Swartz he helped them rush for 3,545 yards and 53 touchdowns and Swartz had very good pass protection as well helping the Cougars throw for 765 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Gabe Tidgridge C Delaware Valley

The breakdown: The leader of that offensive front Tidgridge was very good for the Warriors this past season and helped them shake off an 0-3 start to rally to 7-3. Tidgridge did a great job of calling out defensive schemes and getting snaps off clean; he helped the Warriors average 25 points a game en route to another division title and another district 2 Class 6A title. Tidgridge was an excellent pass blocker and helped the Warriors throw for 1,538 yards and 12 touchdowns. Tidgridge was also a very good run blocker and helped produce 1,000-yard rushes as a team the Warriors ran for 2,501 yards and 33 touchdowns.

Cylell Rose LG Old Forge

 The Breakdown: Another successful year for the Blue Devils as they won the district title and 2 state playoff games, but all that success starts upfront and Rose was a huge reason why. Rose was the heart soul of one of the best offensive lines in the district, and he helped lead one of the most efficient offenses in the state in Class A. on the ground Rose was a physical run blocker who helped the Devils rush for 2,483 yards and 31 touchdowns. Rose also faired very well pass protecting helping the Devils throw for 1,727 yards and 22 touchdowns, also for most of the season the Blue Devils were ranked number 1 in the state in Class A.

Anthony Nicotera RG Scranton Prep

The Breakdown: Preps offense did a lot of amazing things in 2021, but it all starts up front, and Nicotera made that statement true. Nicotera was one of the leaders of that offensive front for the Cavilers and helped them win a division title and a district title. Nicotera is a punishing run blocker who was second on the team in pancake blocks and helped the cavilers rush for 3,819 yards and 49 touchdowns, and Nicotera is also very good in pass protection helping the Cavs throw for 807 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Lacota Dippre LE Lakeland

The Breakdown: Dippre followed in the footsteps of his older brother and became a leader of defense for the Chiefs last season which propelled them to a division title. Dippre was arguably the best defensive player in the district he was a punishing run stuffer who stuffed many wholes and just blew up plays, and he was also a dangerous pass rusher who provided great pressure on the QB. Dippre finished with 65 tackles 25 of em for a loss he also had 10 hurries, 9 sacks forced 2 fumbles recovered 5 of them he also had 1 interception which he returned for a touchdown.

Josh Angelo DT Mid Valley

The Breakdown: Angelo was just simply too big too strong for opposing offensive linemen and was just a problem on Friday nights. Angelo was the heart and soul of the Spartan defense, and he helped lead Mid Valley to a 9-3 record and a playoff win. Angelo was a nightmare on the defensive line and emerged as both a dominant run stuffer and a lethal pass rusher he finished with 40 tackles 15 of those were for a loss he also added on 8 pressures, 6 sacks, and 2 fumble recoveries.

Dante Randle RE Valley View

The Breakdown: Randle lived in the backfields on Friday nights and imposed his will on offensive linemen and quickly became one of the most dangerous defensive linemen in the district. Randle was the leader of that Cougar defense that only gave up 13.8 points a game, Randle was a dominant run stuffer and was relentless on the pass rush, he finished with a team-high 85 tackles 8 of them were for a loss, and he also added 2 sacks and helped Valley View win the district 2 Class 4A title.

Ty Lafave LB North Pocono

The Breakdown: Lafave was all around the football on Friday nights he was a tackling machine and was one of the best linebackers in the district. Lafave was the leader of that Trojan defense that forced the most turnovers in district 2 and only gave up 11 points a game and also made an appearance in the District 2 Class 4A title game. Lafave is every coach’s dream at linebacker, he did a very good job at stuffing holes in the run game finishing with a team-high 85 tackles, 34 of them were solo, and he also forced 3 fumbles. Lafave was also very good in pass coverage and finished with 5 pass breakups and 3 interceptions.

Justin Kalitsnik LB Delaware Valley

The Breakdown: Defense down the stretch of the season led Delaware Valley to another district 2 Class 6A title and Kalitsnik was the leader of it. Despite being only a Sophomore, Kalitsnik took control of the Warrior defense down the stretch of the season and helped the Warriors win seven straight games. Kalitsnik was a tackling machine and finished with a team-high 117, 41 of them were solo, and he also added a sack.

Michael Golay LB Scranton Prep

The Breakdown: Golay was a standout on defense for the Cavilers and helped them win the district 2 class 3A title and was one of the best tacklers in the district. Golay was the leader on defense for the Cavilers that only gave up 11 points a game, Golay was a tackling machine and finished with the most tackles in the district at 130 he also forced 2 fumbles and had an interception, most of the time Golay was the best defensive player on the field.

Jordan Rebar LB Valley View

 The Breakdown: Rebar helped lead one of the best defenses in the district to District 2 Class 4A title and helped lead Valley View to a 12-2 record. Rebar was a leader on defense for the Cougars and became one of the best linebackers in the LFC. His ability to sniff out plays and blow them up is second to none, he became a punishing run stuffer who forced 3 fumbles and also became very good in pass coverage and even snagged an interception.

Sean Mackinder DB Valley View

The Breakdown: Mackinder was the leader of the Valley View secondary that only gave 13 points a game and forced an average of 2 turnovers a game. Mackinder was all over the ball and was one of the best defenders in the district; one pass was recorded in Mackinder all year long. Mackinder was straight up ball hawk and finished with 6 interceptions which is tied for most in the district he also finished with 36 tackles and helped Valley View win the district 2 Class 4A title.

Jon Seamans DB Lakeland

 The Breakdown: Not many teams were as talented in the secondary as the Lakeland Chiefs but Jon Seaman’s shined away from the others. Seaman’s was leader on defense for the Chiefs helping them win 10 games and a division title and guarded the best player on the field on more than 1 occasion. Seaman’s finished with 76 tackles, 2 of them were for losses he also added on 2 interceptions, 3 passes defended and a forced fumble to his already impressive résumé.

T.J Schmalze DB Wallenpaupack

The Breakdown: Simply considered by most coaches the best player in District 2, Schmalze was a men among boys on Friday nights. Schmalze was standout on both sides of the ball but shined on defense as one of the best Defensive backs in the district, Schmalze used his elite speed to keep up with Receivers in man and in zone was a standout as teams kept the ball away from him. Schmalze finished with an incredible 101 tackles, 5 of them for a loss while also adding 2 interceptions.

William Soma DB North Pocono

The Breakdown: Somas offensive play at Quarterback this season shadowed his incredible play on the defensive end. Soma was the leader of the secondary for the the Trojans a defense that only gave up 11 points a game and forced the most turnovers in the district en rout to a trip to the district class 4A title game. Soma was just phenomenal in coverage and Finished with 31 tackles, 5 pass break ups and 6 interceptions which is tied for most in the district he also forced and recovered a fumble.
