Dominico Spataro QB Lakeland
London Montgomery RB Scranton Prep
The Breakdown: It was simply one of the best years a quarterback has ever had in district 2,Spataro was simply an issue on friday nights. Spataro led the Chiefs to a 10-2 record which included a district playoff win and also helped them win the LFC division 3 title for the second year in a row. Spataro led district 2 in passing yards with 2,254 and touchdown passes with 25, and he also led all quarterbacks in rushing with 820 yards and in rushing touchdowns with 15.
Kevin Synder WR Lakeland
The Breakdown: Montgomery is coming over a historic year for the Cavaliers which saw them capture the district 2 class 3A title for the first time since 2018. Montgomery put up video game numbers in 2021 for the Cavaliers in just 10 games Montgomery rushed for a district-high 2,630 yards and 35 touchdowns which was also near the top in the state. Montgomery averaged 12 yards a carry and remember a lot of times Montgomery only played one half of football. Montgomery also helped hand Valley View its only regular season loss of the year, and he has already started to rack up division 1 offers as a junior.
Robert Rossi WR Scranton Prep
The Breakdown: It was hard to argue Lakeland had a wide receiver 1 last season with how lethal the aerial attack was, but when the Chiefs needed a big play it seemed like Synder was their guy. Synder made big plays all year long for the Chiefs and emerged as a threat anytime the ball got in his hands. He finished with 35 receptions for a team high 612 yards and 8 touchdowns, and Synder helped Lakeland win a district playoff game and the division title.
The Breakdown: When you take in how run heavy Prep was this past season it makes Rossi stats all more impressive. The Cavalier's standout wide receiver has just recently committed to Penn State as a preferred walk-on and is looking to make an impact there just as he did on Friday nights. Rossi is the complete package at receiver at 6,4 he has great speed with very good route running and some of the best hands in the district, when Rossi got in the open field he was dangerous. Rossi finished with 28 receptions for 610 yards and 10 touchdowns which was tied for second in the district. Rossi also helped the cavs capture the district title.
John Greenfield FB Old Forge
The Breakdown: Greenfield was a huge piece on why the Devils had one of the most prolific offenses in the state, and emerged as a true punishing fullback.
Greenfield was a huge reason why the Devils accomplished what they did in 2021 another undefeated regular season, another LFC division four title, a Class A district championship and 2 state playoff wins. Greenfield opposed his will on the football team as a punishing run blocker, but he also contributed in the run game rushing for 243 yards and 9 touchdowns.
Aiden Black TE Delaware Valley
The Breakdown: Black emerged as a star for the Warriors this season and helped them shake off an 0-3 start and helped them win seven straight games.
Black has all around been one of the best tight ends in this area for a while now, Black is a division 1 prospect and has been a problem since his freshman year. Black is an incredible run blocking tight end but emerged as a threat in the passing game he finished with 23 receptions for 373 yards and 4 touchdowns, and his 373 yards were second best in the district among tight ends and were tied for first in receiving touchdowns among tight ends.
Adam Kenny LT Scranton Prep
The Breakdown: Kenny was a leader on that offensive line for the Cavilers that just manhandled opposing defensive lines. Kenny was one of the best tackles in the district and his strength and technique helped lead the Cavilers rushing attack which was dominant in district 2. The Cavilers rushed for 3,819 yards and 49 touchdowns which were second-best in the LFC. Kenny also used his very efficient footwork in his pass protection helping the Cavs pass for 807 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Tyler Swartz RT Valley View
The Breakdown: Swartz has been one of the best offensive linemen in the area since his Sophomore season and has led Valley View to two district titles.
Swartz was the leader of arguably the best offensive line in the district and his physical style of play helped the Cougar offense averaged 39.4 points a game. The Cougar’s ground game was lethal behind Swartz he helped them rush for 3,545 yards and 53 touchdowns and Swartz had very good pass protection as well helping the Cougars throw for 765 yards and 10 touchdowns.
